Recycled paper!
Hello there again! Recently we have been making a lot (almost 100 cards!) of recycled paper to sell at the Gala day. For more info on the Gala day, see "Buy a seed bomb now! - Post not sponsored by anything!". I think the reason we are doing recycled paper because the Gala day seems to have a focus on being environmentally friendly. Unsurprisingly, the main thing we learnt was how to recycle paper (And that is very inclusive). I don't think many (Or any. That rhymes!) of us knew how to recycle paper. We all wrote a procedural writing text (At least a plan) on how to make paper (I'm pretty sure "making paper" and "recycling paper" both work), which I currently have with me. I have had to modify it a bit.
Making cards out of recycled paper
You will need:
- Paper
- A bucket
- A mould and deckle
- An egg beater
- A sink
- Glue
- And finally, a small piece of paper
Making it
- First, get some paper (Try not to use newspaper, it is too inky)
- Then, rip it up over a bucket
- Leave the pieces in hot water for 30 minutes while you set up your mould and deckle
- Beat the paper with the egg beater
- Pour the paper into the sink
- Scoop the mould and deckle through it until you have a decent layer of paper
- Quickly turn it upside down
- Remove the mould
- Leave it to dry
- Once it is dry, fold in in half (Do it while it is landscape)
- Glue a bit of paper in it
- Put whatever you want on the front
- Done!
