Matariki/Pleiades/Seven Sisters/Messier 45/Melotte 22/...

Hello everyone! If you haven't noticed (you probably would have if you watch TVNZ, because they seem to have decided to advertise it) it's Matariki! A lot has been happening around Matariki (such as the kite day on top of Mt Roskill), or will be, and so we have been learning a lot about Matariki. If you were curious about the title, it's some of the different names for Matariki. In reading, we made a Google Slides about it, and here it is! And you aren't the only person who learned something. I had no idea that anyone said there were 7, not 9. I also had no idea that Taranaki couldn't see Matariki. If you were wondering when the Mt Roskill Kite Day is, it's on the 8th of July. If you want to comment, then do. Bye!

We went to Tiritiri Matangi!

Hello everyone! On Thursday 31st of May, we went to Tiritiri Matagi Island. If you have never heard of it, it is a small, pest free island, (Wikipedia article link here ) about 3 km away from Whangaparoa. We had to get to school by 7:30 (AM!), and the bus left at 7:50 (once again AM!). Then, we got the ferry to Tiritiri (from Pier 4 at Downtown Ferry Terminal, if anyone wants to know), via Gulf Harbour (basically a ferry terminal surrounded by an absolutely giant marina), on the Whangaparoa Peninsula. When we arrived, there was a weird little track along the right of the pier, which turned out to be the rails for a small cart that carried everyone's bags except ours. Then, we loaded our bags into the back of the van that carried them to the Visitor Centre. Then, we spent an hour or two walking up there, while the van probably could have went up and down about 10 times. Once we got up there, we had lunch (and chocolate, as a "thank you" from our guide), and looked at

If you don't want to be flooded, live in this house! - Post not sponsored by anything.

Hello everyone!  Before we get started, I have something to explain. I know my blog looks different. It's not an accident. I did it myself. If you're wondering where all the little gadgets went, the about me one has been updated and is sitting below the title, Search is the magnifying glass up and to the right of the title, and everything else, like Translate (new!), a list of dictionary's (new!) contributors, that calender of posts thingy, the cloud of labels, Report Abuse, Recent comments, and total views, are all in the three lines button up and left from the title. If you want to follow, it isn't at the bottom of the blog like it probably should be. Instead, it's in the menu under the three lines (anyone have a better name for it?). You can get email alerts as well  (please do, or else everyone can see your full name)  by clicking the button underdeath the about me.  But now, onto what I made, a (not entirely) flood proof house! I made it using Tinkercad . On
